Overview
Racca Infotech successfully executed a large-scale RAM Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning (SITC) project for ABB India Ltd. across multiple regions in India. The project involved upgrading and standardizing RAM across approximately 12,800 laptops, desktops, and workstations using high-quality memory modules from Samsung, Hynix, and Kingston. With an estimated project value of around ₹2 Crore, the execution spanned across South, North, East, and West zones, including major locations such as Bangalore, Mysore, and Chennai. Bangalore alone accounted for nearly 5,000–6,000 assets, making it the most intensive deployment zone.
Challenges
One of the biggest challenges was accurate asset identification across a widely distributed environment spanning multiple states and cities. Ensuring correct mapping of serial numbers before and after RAM installation, capturing photographic proof, and validating system configurations through tools like Belarc Advisor added complexity to the execution. Additionally, coordinating a 35-member team across regions, managing logistics, and maintaining consistency in documentation and reporting within a tight timeline required strong planning and coordination.
Solution The RIPL team initiated the project on 15th October 2010 and successfully completed it by the first week of December, executing the entire rollout within 45 days. A structured deployment approach was followed with state-wise team allocation to ensure smooth execution across all regions. Each device was carefully validated with before-and-after serial number records, RAM installation screenshots, and system configuration reports generated via Belarc Advisor. Despite scale and complexity, the project was delivered efficiently, ensuring accurate upgrades, complete documentation, and successful RAM enhancement across all ABB systems.
